The Birth of the Turtle School
The Turtle School, also known as the Kame Style, is a renowned martial arts school founded by Master Roshi. The name "Turtle School" stems from Master Roshi's lifelong companion, a talking turtle named Turtle (or Kame in Japanese).
The story of how the Turtle School came to be begins with Master Roshi's encounter with Turtle. As the legend goes, Turtle was lost and stranded, and Master Roshi saved him by returning him to the sea. In gratitude, Turtle agreed to let Master Roshi ride on his back and brought him to a mysterious island called Roshi's Island.
On Roshi's Island, Master Roshi built his humble abode and began his training as a hermit. Over time, he developed powerful techniques and honed his skills to perfection. It was during this period that Master Roshi created the iconic Kamehameha wave, a devastating energy attack that has become synonymous with Dragon Ball.
Recognizing the value of his knowledge and wishing to pass it on, Master Roshi decided to open his own martial arts school. Thus, the Turtle School was born.
The Teachings of the Turtle School
The Turtle School is renowned for its emphasis on discipline, technique, and physical endurance. Master Roshi believed that true strength comes from within and that one must possess a calm mind and a strong spirit to unlock their full potential.
